I'm sure you've noticed their distinct lack of resemblance. That's because their not really brothers, but half-brothers. Their father, a tabby named Dogwood had two mates. Two moons after the first gave birth, the second did. The older son was the spitting image of his father, while the second looked just like his mother. Dogwood named them after himself: Rowan for the tabby and Aspen for the white and gray son.
Long after their mothers had left, Dogwood raised his sons. He loved them both, sharing interests and appearance with Rowan, but personality with Aspen. As he lay dying, Dogwood begged Rowan to keep an eye on his brother. Taking it as a sign his father had loved Aspen more than him, Rowan became bitter. Aspen was, of course, oblivious. For many moons they traveled together. Sometimes Rowan would loose his temper with Aspen and storm off. They always found each other again after a few days.
One day, while traveling, the two brothers stumbled upon a strange congregation of cats. Curious, Aspen watched them, despite his brother's warnings to stay away. But Aspen was soon fascinated with them. He told his brother about the Clans and Rowan soon came to see the light in a communal way of life. Finally, they both agreed to attempt to join the clans. The first thing they did was name each other in the fashion of the Clanners. Rowan became Rowanstripe and Aspen became Aspenfur.
But there was one problem... Rowanstripe took fancy to TealClan and the way they were quieter and calmer than the other clans. Aspenfur took one look at CherryClan and fell in love. He had watched them and their young cats many times and was fond of them already.
So the brothers separated, Rowan with relief (and guilt) and Aspen with a backward glance and a heart full of hope.

Please post if you're interested in Rowanstripe. I thought this would help solve TealClan's lack of available toms. You'll need to post a full bio for him (as I'll eventually get around to doing with Aspenfur).

And TealClan tom? You sure? I always thought we needed she-cats.

Another idear; why don't we make NPC's which can be replaced by actual charrie's later on? Admins would have permission to play med. cats and leaders when needed, but for everyday posts and such, members would be able to play the regular cats or include them in their posts as long as nothing drastic - like a prophesy - was mentioned.
