Redstorm surveyed the land in front of him, his new territory. He was glad that they had found the place quickly, they had been lucky. They had needed a place to keep the newborn kits, along with their weakened mother. Breathing in a deep sigh, he glanced about, looking for his warriors and the others. There was still a big part of him missing that he had left back in the Brookclan borders. Hailstorm. He missed her terribly, especially since now he was more lonely than ever. Of course he hadn't much time to deal with such things as his social life at the moment, but he missed the glances of encouragement that he knew she would have been sending his way, or the way that when he really needed it, she would have brushed up against his pelt and given him a quick lick to give him the confidence he needed. It was hard enough trying to start up the clans again, and now he was alone. Not even his deputy trusted him, and how could he expect Ravenflight to? There were holes perforated into the tapestry of Cherryclan's brotherhood, and he wasn't sure how to fix them yet, other than wait. But at least they had found somewhere to stay, and they could have a safe place for the new kits. He would have to perform the ceremonies for the apprentices soon. It had been long enough, and Rowankit was ready to be apprenticed. They were well overdue to become warriors and apprentice with the others.
Then again, why couldn't he just do it now? It would bring up the morale of the clan to say the least, and would probably give them a little extra energy when they were helping to bring the camp together. Redstorm narrowed his eyes in a small smile and hopped up onto the closest thing that he could find that was above all the other cats, a large dead tree stump covered with moss and creepers, but much higher than anything else in the camp. He would give the warrior names to Ashenpaw, Stormpaw, Brackenpaw, and Pantherpaw. Not to mention giving Rowankit his apprentice name. Taking another deep breath, Redstorm called out to his clan, "Cats of Cherryclan, gather around the Half-tree for a clan meeting."

Pantherpaw had been stretched lazily on his back, reveling in the warmth from the sun. At Redstorm's voice, his ears pricked a little, but he didn't move yet...he was far too comfortable at the moment. Eventually he would get up, but not yet. He was lanky now, long and limber, his gray limbs splayed out above him in a funny-looking position, but it felt nice.
Sighing, he spun quickly up and over onto his paws, shaking his short-haired pelt to get some of the dust off. Blinking his green-gray eyes and stretching lazily, he padded over to where Redstorm perched on the dead stump, sitting down and twitching his crooked tail behind him.

Arcticwind took his time in coming to Redstorm's call, lazily licking his whiskers after a great yawn. He still didn't quite give all the respect that the new leader probably deserved. He, with the purest of CherryClan ancestors, could not wrap his mind around having a different Clan's deputy lead him. He quietly took a place by the great stump, casually cleaning a striped beige leg while waiting for Redstorm's meeting to begin.

A light golden tabby kit poked her nose out of the nursery, her eyes widening in delight when she saw the gathering of warriors and apprentices in the center of the camp. Fawnkit glanced quickly from side to side, and when the coast was clear, bounded out of the nursery. Her tiny paws made little impact on the dust as she sat down, slightly away from the group, her amber eyes curious. She wasn't sure exactly what was going on here but she knew her mother would be joining them soon and Fawnkit was sure she wanted to be a part of this!
She turned her head back to the nursery, waiting to see if her brother and sister would join her as well. There wasn't very many cherryclan kits and Fawnkit mostly played with Deerkit and Stagkit. A leaf fluttered above her head and she reached up with a tiny striped paw to bat it out of the air in triumph.

Two queens padded quietly from the nursery. One of them, a short tabby, paused to give small Fawnkit a lick on the head. The other queen had long, fluffy creme fur with a brown face and crystal blue eyes. At her heels stood a small gray and white tom-kit. He glanced quietly up at his mother, big blue eyes somewhat dazed. The tabby turned back to the others, giving the long-haired queen a small nod. "You can come if you'd like, Fawnkit," tabby Brackenpaw said over her shoulder to her daughter.
Clearpool glanced questioningly up at Redstorm, then back down at her kit, blinking her crystal eyes in an unspoken question. The kit seemed oblivious, but Brackenpaw saw the gesture and nodded, looking to the ginger tom for an answer.
Another small tabby watched her golden sister with wide, dialated eyes. She fell down into a crouch, her small behind waving in the air as she prepared to jump. At the last second, her eyes flickered up to the leaf and, when she leapt, she missed both sister and leaf. Her paws came down just to the left of Fawnkit.
Deerkit shook out her fur, trying to pretend as if it hadn't happened at all. She turned her amber eyes back to the leaf, reaching up a small brown paw to bat at it as well. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw her mother, and her attention immediately snapped to the queen. Her mother stood near her good friend Clearpool, small and quiet Rowankit standing between them. Deerkit's whiskers twitched in an odd sort of kit-jealousy. She didn't like it when anyone other than her or her siblings stood close to Brackenpaw! Well, Firestone was alright, but not another kit! She glanced pitifully at her sister, silently asking for help.

He had been walking around the nursery, bored, batting at random clumps of dirt, when he spotted Deerkit looking at Brackenpaw oddly. Turning his bright amber gaze towards their mother, he saw what she saw. Another kit! The long-legged tom-kit jerked his head up, doing a rapid double-take.
His long tail twitched behind him, and he padded over to his sisters, eyes narrowing. Stagkit sat down, and then stood again, restlessly stepping from paw to paw, his eyes still focused on Brackenpaw.
"We's got ta do sometin'." He muttered, his eyes sparkling anger and jealousy, though he would have never admitted it to anyone other than his sisters.
Pantherpaw was waiting for Redstorm to say something, but he hadn't, yet. Pantherpaw couldn't help but flick his green-gray eyes over the rest of the group, wondering who was where. Spotting Clearpool, he stood, shaking out his long limbs one more time and trotting over to his mother, an easy smile on his face.
"Hello, Mother. Hi, Brackenpaw." He meowed, briefly nuzzling Clearpool and nodding to Brackenpaw. Glancing up at Redstorm one more time, he sighed, and smiled down at his little brother.
"Hi, Gorsekit." He meowed softly, his deep voice husky with tenderness.

Fawnkit brightened at her mother's comment, her tiny tail swishing back and forth excitedly at the prospect of being able to join the clan...whatever they were going to be doing. It must be something very important for the leader himself to be out and her mother was going to be a part of it too.
Fawnkit didn't flinch when her sister suddenly appeared beside her. She was used to her siblings and wasn't easily surprised or snuck up on. Her amber eyes, so much like Deerkit's, glanced at her sister and followed to where she was staring. Her tiny mouth formed a silent O and her fur bristled. Perhaps it came from the tight bond she had with her siblings and the chaotic life they had, but she was very protective of her family. But for once, Fawnkit was for a loss of words. Even in kit-speak, she managed to talk a mile a minute. She shrugged her miniscule shoulders and blinked, "I dunno wha-ta do," she responded to her brother Stagkit. "I dun like that either," she said fiercely.

CherryClan's deputy looked slowly up at the stump that served as...what had Redstorm called it?...their new meeting place, their Half-tree. He blinked his eyelids over his eyes just as slowly and then looked at the pretty she-cat who was sitting next to him.
Her blue eyes were trained on something far away. A new feeling had crept into her as of late. The black-pelted deputy couldn't figure out what it could be for his life; whatever it was, though, it was immensely important to her. It had also been aging her just a bit more quickly than it had been he. Even though they were brother and sister, same age, mother, father, and whatnot, she was showing signs of age much more than he was. Her muzzle was now tinged silver with age, her muscles not working as well as they used to, her joints stiffened. Her mind seemed to escape into the unknown place often and for long periods of time at that.
She shifted her gaze to the deputy. As he watched her in the sun, he couldn't help but note that her pelt was losing its sheen, too, its beautiful glossiness that had been there since they were kits, the same glossiness that could be seen on Ravenflight's dark pelt in the same moment. "Ravenflight?" she mewed, her voice soft. She stood sluggishly, as though it pained her joints.
Ravenflight was by her side in an instant, but by the time that he was against her, she was standing on her own paws, as if nothing were bothering her. "Come, Tawnystone" he meowed gently. "Redstorm has called for everyone."
Tawnystone nodded and padded over towards the stump. Ravenflight moved ahead of her to the bottom of the stump, right below Redstorm. He looked up at his leader for a moment, his golden eyes questioning.
Ashenwind saw Tawnystone by herself and padded to her side. "It's a lovely day, isn't it?" she mewed to the old medicine cat. The little gray tabby she-cat sat beside Tawnystone and curled her tail tightly around her light gray paws. The tortoiseshell's blue eyes trailed from Ashenwind towards Redstorm, and she merely nodded her head to the young warrior.
