The year was 2008. After the unfortunate collision of an asteroid with the Earth, society is ruined. A small group of people decide that in order to better their chances of survival, they must move near the coast and form their own society.
Little by little, the society grew and advanced. Out siders filtered in at times and the 'Watchers' as they grew to be called became hunters. The groups of Watchers also became more distant, often warring over triviial things. However, twice a year they would gather at the Light Post and discuss plans for the future.
A few of the Watchers discovered that they were in tune with various parts of nature. They grew to be known as the Elementals. Some hid in fear of what their groups would do to them if they were to find out while others honed their abilities. Magic, they called it, super natural abilities. Though most were limited to doing simple tasks with their powers, the few who honed their abilities became immensly powerful in their own fields. They were War machines.
