ooc: this is the story of Morninglight, Lostmoon, and Beepaw. I know that stories should go in the profile, but I want to leave it open for comment before I put a final draft in my profile for my characters. I'm going to keep adding to it when I have time, but feel free to comment between the sections. I want it all, good things, bad things, etc. I hope you guys enjoy ^ ^
Morninglight:
Fire. I watched in horror and dumbfounded shock as crimson flames engulfed my home, sweeping quickly through the brush, fueled by the crackling leaves strewn over the forest floor. Yowls of approval bellowed from SunsetClan as they burst into camp. I looked around frantically and saw the terrified faces of my clan, obviously as shocked as I was to see the towering flames burst out of nowhere in the camp. My father, Eaglewing recovered first and yelled for the warriors to gather around him, determined to stop SunsetClan from moving another paw step into our home. My fellow warriors jumped into the fray, the air tainted with howls and cries of battle. I saw my mother, Winterfrost, a scream issuing from her throat as the fire reached the nursery, desperation lending speed to her paws as she ran into the den. Gasping, I ran after her, only to be stopped by a flaming log that fell directly in front of the entrance. Sobbing, I attempted to reach her in vain, finally giving up my efforts as the smoke overcame me. Coughing and bleary-eyed, I rushed back to my father, our warriors falling every minute, from the flames, smoke, or bites of the enemy clan. My father was backed into a corner, and I fought to reach him through a mob of Sunset warriors before watching in horror as he too was taken by the flames. In desperation, I fought with everything I had, fighting against warriors twice my size, ducking and weaving between their ranks, not hesitating to deliver a final blow if they got too close. It was suicide and finally I recovered enough of my senses to slip out and break into a run, away from my clan, away from my family, and everything I ever knew. I pasted by my sister’s body, the slashes and bite marks easily visible against her creamy white pelt. I couldn’t even stop to pay my respect. I kept running, my heart pounding in my chest and my breath coming out in ragged gasps. I finally collapsed under a tree, shutting my eyes, frantically trying to rid myself of the stench of blood, the screams of my family, and the burning flames roaring through my home and leaving only ashy remains behind of everything I loved.
Lostmoon:
It’s every kit’s dream to be just like their dad. When my father, Tangledtree, assumed the role of deputy and then leader under Tangledstar, my chest swelled with pride. What son could help but to admire their father. I imagined myself in that position one day, leader of SunsetClan, respected throughout the land for warrior skill and wisdom. After assuming his leadership positions, he never had the time for me. When he did, mostly what he said to me was criticism. I believed his harsh words to be out of love, to push me to be the best I could be. I was a fool. Too caught up in my wishful thinking and a childish innocence. Still, I adored him and pushed myself, sometimes to the point of exhaustion. If that was what it would have taken to follow in his paw steps, I would have done it. The only times I could relax was with my brother, Beekit, my newborn brother. Sure to put a smile on everyone’s face, his rambunctious spirit and winning personality made all my days a little brighter and kept my heart a little lighter. I was worried for Beekit, worried that he couldn’t handle the tough regime of my father, and I vowed that I would always protect him. My warrior studies and my visits with Beekit kept me busy all day. But even my constant adoration for my father could not blind me entirely from his actions. We had always maintained fairly good terms with SunriseClan, meeting with them every month at a gathering, and usually keeping to our own territory. SunsetClan had hit a little bit of a rough spot, prey became a little scarcer. My father thought this constituted several deceitful activities that followed; prey stealing, ambushes, and slowly throwing out the warrior code. SunriseClan attempting to stop my clan, but we outnumbered them in warriors easily. My father took advantage to this and hatched a plan to get rid of SunriseClan for good. In the middle of the night, he sent a group of warriors to steal fire from a Twoleg camp. I was with them…and I let them go. I didn’t want to believe he would go through with it. It was the biggest mistake of my life. Returning to camp, I looked across the river and saw flames and smoke shoot up into the air in the middle of SunriseClan and realized the truth and what I could have done to stop it. This was not my clan anymore and I decided to leave it for good, pausing momentarily to steal Beekit from the nursery, not willing to leave my brother behind, hoping that he could turn out to be a more courageous warrior then I was. We wandered for days as I was determined to put as many paw steps as possible between us and my fatal error. Everyday was a struggle to hunt and feed myself and Beekit, who luckily had just been weaned, but opportunities to hunt where I knew he would be safe were few and far in between. I feared that my actions would cost another life until I came across an impossible sight. A slender golden female asleep under a tree, a Sunrise warrior. I knew I had seen her before and after racking my brain, I realized her to be the daughter of the deputy, Morninglight, recently made a warrior at the last gathering. I set Beekit down and softly called her name, “Morninglight…” Her eyes blinked open, a startlingly beautiful emerald, and she slowly sat up, turning to face me. I almost gasped at her appearance, soot covering her lovely features, claw marks covering her matted coat, and her beaten expression. She studied me for a moment, and when it dawned on her my identity, her eyes turned to bitter green ice as she hissed, “Filth! Take one more step and I’ll kill you where you stand”.
