Everything that Windrunner said suddenly clicked into place. Her eyes lit up, and her paws fairly danced over the ground. She looked up at him, their eyes meeting, and her heart-rate increasing.
"Cats! And-" Her voice dropped to a conspiratory whisper, as Snowstorm added,
"And they're not Druids!" Her tail twitched excitedly behind her, and she nodded an assent to his advice, before looking towards the foothills once more. Just think, more cats. It made her heart freeze up a little, to think that there were more cats, that might judge her, might attack her, might take her home.
She looked back at Windrunner one more time, before turning and leaping towards the Praiser's den, her tail streaming behind her, her ears pressed against her head and her paws fairly flying over the ground, though she knew that Windrunner would easily beat her there. That was okay- they just had to tell the Praisers! |
